8. responsibilties to other bail bondsmen
- Duty to cooperate.
- Duty to disseminate bail bond as quickly as possible in order to effect a quick bond. Refusing to share any information concerning a bail bond is
- A bail bondsman has no duty to cooperate with unlicensed individuals.
- Duty to keep up to date about local, state and national issues that affect the bail bond business.
- Duty not to criticize another bail bondsman.
- Avoid any disparaging statements, as it is unprofessional and unethical.
- Duty to report unethical bail bondsmen.
- Must report to the Bail Bond Association and/or local district attorney of any
violation of regulations or statute by a bail bondsman.
- Should always cooperate with any governmental or professional investigation of
conduct within the industry. Failing to cooperate would be both unprofessional and
unethical.
- Settling bail bondsmen disputes.
- Parties to professional dispute have a duty to make a good faith effort to resolve their differences among themselves.
- If all parties are members of the State Association. The bylaws of the state
organization state that disputes of bail agents will state their causes of actions to the arbitration board of the Independent Ball Agents Association. The decision of the board of referees is binding by both parties.
- If one party or all parties are not members of the state organization, the non member
agents the accused are requested to use the arbitration board. If they agree, a hearing
will be conducted by the board at a minimal cost to the agents. The decisions will be
binding only if they agree before arbitration to be binding.
